2021 will be a year of divine restoration, but for restoration to manifest in our lives, we must allow God to heal and restore us spiritually and emotionally.

If we do not deal with offence by forgiving, it will take root in our hearts and eventually grow into something that will control us and keep us from our destiny in Christ!

The Bible says in Luke 17:1-4 that offences will come. It is satans entrapment to lure you away from God.

If we do not deal with offence by forgiving, it will take root in our hearts and eventually grow into something that will control us and keep us from our destiny in Christ!

Not dealing with offence, will result in unforgiveness which will grow into bitterness and then resentment and ultimately hatred.

When offence comes there are four important things that you need to do;

1. Guard your heart
2. Guard your mouth
3. Guard your actions and intentions towards that person
4. You have to forgive

1. Guard your heart

You have to guard your heart at all cost, for out of it flows the issues and boundaries of your life. Do not become a prisoner of pain and betrayal, do not allow the actions of someone else to determine who you become.

"Watch over your heart with all diligence, For from it flow the springs of life." Proverbs 4 : 23 | Amplified Bible

2. Guard your mouth

The more you talk about it the bigger it becomes in your life, so stop talking about the hurt and the pain of the past. Do not pass your offence to those around you. Take your hurt to God and allow Him to deal with it.

"Be angry, and do not sin, do not let the sun go down on your wrath"
Ephesians 4:26 | New King James Version

The Bible warns against divisive people, and as soon as you speak and share your offence with other people, you are being divisive.

"Warn a divisive person once, and then warn them a second time. After that, have nothing to do with them."
Titus 3:10 | The New International Version

3. Guard your actions

We cannot repay evil with evil. The moment you open your mouth you have sinned. If you bring up something all the time, then you have a root of anger that's growing and if you don't deal with it, then it will turn into bitterness.

God remains our Saviour and our Deliverer, you cannot run to someone else and defile them! You have to run to God!

4. You have to forgive

The minute you harbour bitterness and offence you are walking unrighteously before God. We have to forgive people!

"Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven times?” Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times."
Matthew 18:21-22 | The New King James Version

If you don't get rid of the offence it will grow and leave you bitter. A heavy heart brings dryness to the bones and bitterness can open a door for satanic bondage. We cannot become victims of the things that happen to us!

There is freedom in Christ! We must allow Jesus to set us free no matter how painful it is otherwise, a spirit of bitterness will destroy us!

Don't allow poison in your heart, you have no control over someone else's actions but you have control over how you respond!
